SMS Consent Documentation
SMS Messaging Opt-In
This page documents exactly how users opt in to text messages from Manor Park OS, and shows the precise consent language and controls presented at account signup (manorparkos.com/signup). It is publicly accessible for carrier and Toll-Free Verification review.
1. How users opt in
- Opt-in happens on a web form during account signup. A dedicated SMS-consent checkbox is presented alongside the mobile-number field.
- The checkbox is blank (unchecked) by default — the user must take an affirmative action to opt in.
- Consent is completely optional and is not a condition of creating an account or using the platform. Users who decline can still sign up and use email or an authenticator app for two-factor authentication.
- SMS consent is a separate control — it is not bundled into acceptance of the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, and it is not bundled with any email opt-in.
- Messages are transactional only: account verification codes, two-factor authentication (2FA) codes, and account notifications (e.g., rent receipts, lease notices, maintenance updates). We do not send marketing text messages.
2. The exact opt-in shown to users
The card below reproduces the consent control exactly as it appears on the signup form — the same mobile-number field, the same unchecked checkbox, and the same consent language:
(555) 000-0000
Shown for documentation only — this reproduction is not an active form. The live control appears at signup.
